Conclusion

This example has shown you the UI design process for a simple Flash Lite Sudoku game called Sudokumaster. Following the UI design guidelines presented in section Designing graphical user interfaces, the focus has been on creating an intuitive and easy-to-use UI with a dynamic layout that supports multiple screen resolutions and orientations, and both key and touch input. As a result, the Sudokumaster UI provides a smooth and consistent user experience across a variety of platforms and devices. This example has also shown you how the initial UI mock-up evolved into the final UI, a process that required a number of adjustments to the UI design to make dynamic layout control easier and to better address the limitations and capabilities of Flash Lite.

You can study the Sudokumaster application further by opening the FLA and AS source files on your computer. You can also test the application on different Nokia mobile devices and in Adobe Device Central. To download the complete Sudokumaster package, which includes both the source files and the published application, see section Flash Lite applications.

The following figures show the Sudokumaster UI mock-up (top) and the final UI (bottom).
